Modifying is very important to those of us who just…can’t… keep… up with these young, fit people who insist on always being at workouts… It’s like they’re obsessed or something. I mean, if I had a strong, fit physique, I wouldn’t have to go to workouts every dang morning, now would I?
Oh, wait…
I’m all for the modifying.
Greg, not to sound like Paula or your doctor but “You better be modifying everything you do, Mister. Especially with that bionic heart of yours!”
I remember when I decided to study martial arts. The first dojo I went to recommended me to a second one just up the street. Sensei signed me up for his cardio class after work. I must admit, I was having the time of my life… until my stomach told me “PREPARE TO PUKE!!!” I made it to the toilet just in time.
Afterwards, Sensei told us all we should all listen to our bodies. A lesson I keep in mind to this very day.
After a while, I was moves to an actual karate class. I made it to brown belt before I was forced to put my training on hiatus. Being made redundant really took a toll on my economy.
Ooo! Modifying! I’ll take that one!
I am now what they call ‘operator error’.
Just put me on a $1,000 bike, in $2 shorts and a t-shirt, and I’ll ride flat-out for an hour. Just make sure there’s enough of a cycling path that I can ride it for an hour.
