Ever since Hollywood discovered that you can apparently fix anything onscreen with a computer, they have.
And now, according to the commercials, our phones will shoot and edit movies of Hollywood quality.
So, surely a crowd of folks cheering the Outdoor Galore Store is a fine start to an advertisement for Enis’s Good Sporting’s OutdoorsFest, right?
Sure it is.
If you’ve ever seen the Whiskey Tribe videos, you’ll know how well re-purposing works. (Really well, or not at all, depending on your viewpoint.”
It helps if you actually know what you’re doing. Do you think they’ll have courses for things like this someday?
Yeah, do that last one first. Enis is going to cheap out to the point that his festival is just a balloon popping booth in the parking lot of his store and the prizes will be discount coupons off a purchase of $200 or more.
EGSOF get yo eggs offn my sausage!
Pixel Jockey here. Some of the phones out, with enough memory in them, careful blockage and run, are getting good enough to produce good stuff. Just have the backroom pixel buster happy to make it look good. With time, I can do a lot. OGS can all be cut, all the shirts and hats can be recolored, and SOMETHING will have to be pasted in over where the OGS was. Give it to me a week after the event and I can have the video ready for next advertising season, and, thank you for the new car, btw. Paid in cash that I will marker, before I do the work. No slurking off!!!!! [my un-fave is people who want a watermark taken off a wedding shot. I can do it, I’ve done for practice. I offer a price so outrageous they they scream. I say, y’know it might be cheaper and make a lot more sense to pay your bleeping photo bill to who took your wedding shots and get them to release your package?]
Oh yes, people who want everything for nothing. They’re why I charge consultation fees and charge for concept drawings.
Sometimes I will produce a sample to land a contract, but. Tech forum one day, young man found out I was a first class pixel jockey and said that for a large contract I do do samples. He was super excited, he wanted a picture of self with some english superimposed on it (assumed for a dating site-he was definitely overseas) for the sample. Yea yea he wanted a bunch more work, now would I do the sample right now? I told him $50. He said YOU SAID YOU DO FREE SAMPLES. I said I KNOW you want just this one picture done and are going to evaporate if I do it. $50 up front, electronic payment and I’m pulling the payment as soon as it’s sent. He started to violate the forum rules (aka swearing profusely) so he got banned. Big difference in bidding on a 4-12k image project and dating site thumbnails
