Anyone will tell you. If you want to sign contracts, you need to make sure you have your backpack all squared away first. Can’t be splitting your attention between interpreting all those ‘wherefore’s and ‘hereafter referred to’s and worrying about whether you packed the T.P. in the top pouch or if its under the cookware.
An orderly mind is a happy mind.
Truckin’, like the do-dah man. Once told me you’ve got to play your hand.
Sometimes your cards ain’t worth a dime, if you don’t lay’em down.
New adventures await…
Now get out there!
Is Hubris ending? This has an series finale feel to it.
In the original plan, this was going to be the ten-year series finale. But it was also gonna be last November.
I’ve still got stories to be told, though, so as long as Patreon keeps a little money coming in, I’ll justify telling the stories.
Thank you for this. I was wondering.
You cannotta foolla me. There is no sucha things as a sanity clause.

Just Greg is writing a trilogy, with about a decade to do each one. So let’s all sit back.
I bet Hubris is going to hike the Appalachia Trail, or go to Central or South America to go on an adventure, or go to Europe and walk through many places and stay at interesting hostels… maybe even run across Bob a few times like a ‘where’s Waldo’
I actually forgot what the heck is going on with this.
Even if “all good things must come to an end”, that doesn’t mean that the end won’t be bittersweet…
It’s good when a webcomic artist has a planned end in sight. It prevents (most of the time) the series from dragging on, or even from jumping the shark. It’s sad for the readers, but at the same time, they can appreciate that the series ended on a high note, with (most) dangling threads resolved…
Besides, nothing prevents us from doing an archive crawl at any time. I’ve done many of those, in the past. In fact, I usually keep a bookmark of finished series, for just that reason.
Thank you, Greg, for all the hard work you have put into this series. It was most enjoyable.
It’s not the end of the series- just the end of the season, if you like to see it that way. I set up a lot of story bits and character interactions over the years and now, I’m bottlenecking them. They’ll all be forced into a narrow channel and we’ll spread out after that to see what happens and who does what. I think you’re gonna enjoy the ‘season premiere’ I have planned.
Amen, Greg, Amen.
If it means more Hubris, I’ll be more than happy to be proven wrong!
I wonder how Hubris’ “extended family” are going to feel when they realize he’s really gone? Most of them will just roll with it, I suppose, but Nikki and Cara…
Greg, when I figured out where things were going with Hubris and his life, I remembered what you wrote in the front of the second Hubris book. You wrote about how you were motivated by a reader on this site to do less gag-a-day and more story arcs. About how, previously, a story arc would last 3 weeks at the most. I’m flat out amazed how you plotted this out, how you incorporated minor elements from previous panels and reference them 3 years later. You’re a fantastic writer and I can’t wait to see more of what you have in store for Hubris, both here and on Patreon. Please don’t stop crafting great stories!
