Hubris is doing what we all wish we could do, right?
You get a few dollars in the ol’ bank account and then you go live it up doing exactly what you’ve been hoping to do for years and years.
Yessir. Happiness is retirement.

When it’s raining and lightning out, I grab the nearest, tallest metal object and hope fate will take me … but I’ll be dammed … it hasn’t, in 30 years.
Yikes.
Hey, he meant to do that
You can see it in his eyes. He’s having the time of his life.
You’d think Hubris’ wilderness skills wouldn’t netted him a nice cave for shelter by now.

I believe it would, yes!
could have been “I-gore” as in bloody
Didn’t Hubris bring a tent with him? He always seems so well prepared for outdoor contingencies. I remember how amazed Kara was when she saw his pre-packed camping… packs, each one outfitted for a different set of weekend activities; one for cycling, one for hiking, another for kayaking…
Such a great system.

Thunder has an interesting relationships to thunder. The first is that you count seconds between the flash and the thunder, and divide by 5 to determine the distance in miles. The fidelity quality of thunder improves as it gets closer. It starts as a rumble and a thud. It then becomes more distinct as it goes to boom and crack boom and blam. Three times I have heard the hiss of the lighting before the air collapsed into the snap boom of being only a few hunders feet away from the strike.
at the hiss, all your little hairs stand up, as the rumble approaches, you duck, then the boom cracks open the known world!
