Yep. I was thinking yesterday that letting a 14-year-old with no commonsense play with weapons intended for protecting the shop would be a bad thing. I am curious if Paste is even aware of the one Hubris is holding…
Also, I’m wondering if anyone else here thinks that Mr. Biner is ex-military. Maybe a former Marine, or ex-Army drill sergeant.
Oh just by the way he’s drawn, Mr. Biner is exmilitary.
Glad that Mr. Biner sussed why the shop has no need of real hardware plus gunpowder.
I think he’s J. Jonah Jameson’s brother.
What the heck was it with Stan Lee and alliterative names?
I think they’re a memory aid to him. Doesn’t help if you can’t remember which letter goes to which character…
Beetle Biner and Hubris have the same reaction but not necessarily for the same reasons.
I dunno. Not leaving Paste with access a gun… that sounds like they have the same reasons to me.
hmmm… well maybe that´s Sarge rather than Beetle.
after meeting Paste. mr biner should be happy Hubris does not have any fire arms around after for paste and bob on their own are scary enough for any would be thief no need for fire arms.
In my head I just heard Paste’s voice. He sounds just like Eddie from Ed, Edd & Eddie.
Hmm… Mr. Biner doesn’t listen to anyone, and ignores advice… military haircut.
Army intelligence would be my guess.
OK, I admit it – I’m a little slow. It’s probably from skating and biking without a helmet as a kid. But. . .
I just got that Kara’s whole name is Kara Biner (=carabiner). Wow. Right over my head. But I like it!
So. . . Biner is also a slang term for a small, tumescent, male genital. Any connection to dad?
I… I was completely and happily unaware of this alternate use of the word Biner. I could have remained ign’ant.
Army intelligence definitely.
Yeah, actually took me a day or two to make the connection myself. The obvious really smacks you in the head, especially considering she says she likes to climb when they first meet.
Partly by design, so don’t go kicking yourself. I was very careful for the first few hundred strips never to refer to her by her whole name. She was either Dr. Biner or Kara, and usually the use of the two names was separated by several other strips. Only those who were paying careful attention to the tags under the strips were likely to catch on at first.
