Hehehe, so they have a FAN. kewl.
Ok, now we have proof that Hubris is a fantasy. Skateboarding cops don’t exist in the real world.
… I’ve seen skateboarding security guards. The bounce really well.
When our local skatepark was new, there was the initial drive to get everyone to wear helmets. Tough to do, since all kids over 9 years old know that helmets look uncool. The local politicians wanted to make the show, though, so the police were sent to see that people were wearing helmets. Those were the most dispirited officers you ever saw. You could tell they didn’t want to be at the skatepark. They didn’t care if anyone skated without helmets, personally. Poor guys and girls of the PD. Some of them probably wouldn’t have minded skating.
If my kid ever gets into skateboarding, he will be wearing a helmet, along with other safety gear. I’m sorry, I don’t care if it looks “uncool”… safety first!
Yep. I’m proud of my kids. No problems with safety gear. But then, they’re used to me skating with them, and I wear more stuff than they do. Part of the trick is to have a helmet that looks like it’s been through a war. That’s not as uncool as some of the others.
Greg awesome Gravatar buddy.
Great comic. Have you gone to 5 a week now?
Not five. Four. And I haven’t locked in a schedule yet. If you’d like to suggest which weekday I can lay off, I’ll listen. It’s really up to you guys more than it is up to me. Seriously. Also, there’s a tentative plan for what it’d take to get me to do 6 or 7 Hubris cartoons a week, but I don’t think it’ll pan out. Early stages yet. You guys that read and comment will hear about it long before anyone else.
I’m up for a M-W-Th-F schedule.
But, you could mess with us and make it completely Hubris-like. I mean, completely random.
Whatever you do, quality first.
Oh, great. Now I gotta do quality. There goes the schedule.
I’d say Mon-Thur, and give the poor (haha right) man a 3 day weekend.
You keep saying stuff like that, but the days of ‘rich cartoonists’ ended in the eighties. Ended hard, and it’s gotten worse every year since. If I didn’t do advertising cartoons as my dayjob, Hubris would certainly have never seen the light of day. The syndicates were dropping like flies in 2001 when I first pitched Hubris, and we’re down to a very few. Universal/Uclick, God bless ‘em, is the one The Buckets and Hubris GoComics is with, and I feel lucky. But if you think that Hubris has earned me any money yet, you’re waaaaaay wrong. It’s all been investment so far.
Great timing on Panel 4. That just made my morning. Fortunately I am one of the first in the office this morning.
I think a M-Tu-Th-F schedule would be great. You get the weekend off and a break right in the middle of the week (which makes for an enjoyable Hump Day!).
